Wilson Lodge #432 Scholarship Resolution

Whereas; Wilson Lodge #432 recognizes the importance of education for our youth, and

Whereas; The Lodge has created a memorial scholarship in the Names of Benton Bassham and Sherman

Bates, and

Whereas; The median age of our members prevents their ability to participate in the raising of funds and

selling of tickets thus reducing the income capabilities for our scholarship funds, therefore;

Be It Resolved; that the present scholarship Certificate of deposit be converted and placed in the present

Scholarship Savings account and all awards be paid from this account. In the event the funds drop below

the amount necessary or if the fund becomes depleted no awards are to be paid, and

Be It Further Resolved; That the present scholarship resolution and guidelines be discontinued and

replaced with the following resolutions:

Be It Further Resolved; The scholarship awards be limited to relations of Wilson Lodge members in good

standing as follows, either sons and/or daughters.

Be It Further Resolved; That the awards be presented in January of each year after completion of one

semester of study and attaining a grade point average of 2.5%, and

Be It Further Resolved: that these awards be a one time payment in the amount of $500.00 to each

recipient, as long as funds are available.

Be It Further Resolved; Recipients living in a state other than the state of Arkansas may apply, so long as

they are related to a member in good standing of Wilson Lodge #432, and

Be It Further Resolved; That the only qualifications for these awards are completion of a written

application obtained from the Secretary of Wilson Lodge and providing proof of relationship to a member

of Wilson Lodge as either a son and/or daughter. . Application and transcript from academy to be

returned not later than January 15, of the year following the date of graduation from High School.

Be It Further Resolved; That all resolutions and guidelines pertaining to scholarships in this lodge be null

and void and replaced with these resolutions.
